Bruce’s men have picked up eight points from a possible 12 in recent weeks after a hugely disappointing 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion before the international break left them in danger of dropping into the bottom three.
However, despite Newcastle’s recent upturn in performances and results, it appears as though a large section of the supporters are still unhappy with the former Aston Villa and Hull City boss.
Bruce has faced several protests from the fans throughout his tenure at St. James’ Park, and a picture of him enjoying the Arsenal loanee’s strike at Anfield led to the fanbase voicing their ongoing displeasure towards the 60-year-old.
“I’m still “Bruce Out”, but fair play to him over the last few weeks…whatever he’s said or done has had an impact on the players.”
“Shame about Bruce just doesn’t quite cut it for being a manager would like to see him as some type of senior member of the club”
“He still has to go blud.”
Although the frustration of the Newcastle fans towards Bruce is understandable, given their struggles for large sections of the 2020/21 campaign, the ex-Manchester United defender deserves credit for the club’s upturn in fortunes over the last four fixtures.
