Sam Carroll, a reporter for the Liverpool Echo, has been speaking on the latest edition of the Royal Blue Everton podcast about the Toffees’ 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night.

To kick off this quiz on Seamus Coleman, what squad number does the right-back currently wear for the Toffees?

Everton missed a big opportunity to close the gap on the top four, and a draw leaves them five points behind West Ham United with nine games to go.

The Toffees took the lead and fired in 15 shots with seven on target, but they couldn’t kill the game despite the likes of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin having the chances to do so.

This led Carroll to discuss Richarlison, and he warned that he couldn’t see the 23-year-old staying at Everton forever and thinks that people should enjoy him while they can.

He said: “It’s easy to point a finger at him when he hasn’t had a great game, and he’s saved Everton time and time again since we bought him.

“I still think he’s the kind of player you’ve got to enjoy because he won’t be at the club forever before someone comes calling for him.

“I still think that if we are to finish in the top six this season, there’s big pressure on his shoulders, and to get the best out of him, Carlo [Ancelotti] has to find a way of just unlocking a little bit of joy in his game again and [it will] be really interesting to see how he does.”

Do you think Richarlison will leave Everton soon?

TIF Thoughts on Richarlison…

This season in the Premier League, the Brazilian international has only scored six goals in 25 appearances, which is less than he has managed in the previous two seasons.

However, he still has nine games of the season remaining to match those numbers, but to do that, he will need to be more clinical than he was on Monday.

Carroll, though, clearly feels that the 23-year-old could come to the attention of other clubs in the future, and he was the subject of a ridiculous bid from Barcelona in January 2020, so you never know when another Champions League club might come sniffing.
