Celtic supporters have been reacting on Twitter to the news that Wigan Atheltic striker Kyle Joseph has reportedly taken a step closer to a summer move.

The 19-year-old is enjoying his maiden season in senior football with the Latics, who are currently embroiled in a League One relegation battle.

Despite his boyhood club’s struggles throughout 2020/21, Joseph has bagged five goals and provided one assist in his 14 league appearances, attracting admiring glances from several sides in the process.

According to the Sun, the Daily Mail are reporting that the Hoops are closing in on the Scotland Under-19 international. The teenager’s contract expires over the summer and will, therefore, be free to join another side at the end of the season.

However, fans of the Celtic Park outfit appear to be unsure over Joseph’s potential signing, particularly as there is no permanent manager in charge at this moment in time:

“Regardless of it’s young boys or not we don’t have a permanent manger so who is deciding if they’re good enough and who is signing them when we gona learn way these projects man we need players to go in and hit ground running joke man”

“Why we signing with no manager”

@aaron_cfc_

“A new manager should be in looking to buy players. No point in building up a young guys hopes. No voice being heard regarding the review. Where is the intent of getting our flag back. HH”

“Whose to say, he’ll fit into the ‘ New ‘ managers plans.”

@scarface41

“I can see a pattern emerging here…..”

@Celt_abroad

“Oh dear”

@BobbyBrabender

The exciting young forward would be the second pre-contract signing from the English football league after Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Liam Shaw agreed a move to Parkhead last month.
