Fans of Celtic have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of Diego Laxalt in the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee United on Sunday.

Prior to the Dundee United fixture, after joining Celtic from AC Milan on a season-long loan deal back in October of last year, Laxalt had so far gone on to make 15 league appearances for the Bhoys, over which the 28-year-old left-back had scored one goal and averaged a slightly disappointing WhoScored match rating of 6.83 – ranking him as the club’s 19th-best performer in the Scottish top flight.

However, after John Kennedy opted to start the £3.6 million-rated defender against Dundee United on Sunday, fans of the club appeared far from happy with the display of Laxalt, with a number of them taking to Twitter to share their displeasure at the Uruguay international’s display.

So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say in reaction to Diego Laxalt’s performance against Dundee United?

“I’ll be delighted to see Laxalt leave Celtic. A non-entity.”

@TheIrishParish

“Get Laxalt to cross a ball in.”

@tmcc67

“Laxalt up there with Duffy hopeless.”

@L1AM_EDWARD

“Not being funny but I can’t stand Laxalt – utter rubbish he is. Get Greg Taylor back asap cos there’s no way Laxalt should play vs Rangers – they will run rings round him.”

@celtic6713

“We’ve been excellent on the ball so far. Laxalt is hopeless though.”

@adthelad67

“Laxalt thinks he’s playing fives, runs about like a headless chicken.”

@1forSoro

“Laxalt having a mare.”

@Joem69Joseph

“Laxalt really is rubbish, if it wasn’t for Duffy we’d be saying he’s the worst we’ve seen for years.”

@Spalding_hoops

“Pathetic from Laxalt.”

@StaceyDevlinxxx

All in all, it would appear as if these Celtic fans have been far from happy with what they have seen from Laxalt so far, and, considering the left-back has already lost possession of the ball eight times for the Hoops, it is not difficult to understand why.
