Many Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to react to Jonjo Shelvey’s first-half performance in their game against West Bromwich Albion.

Steve Bruce’s side began the game sitting just three points ahead of 18th-placed Fulham as the 2020/21 Premier League season heads towards the business end of the campaign.

However, Sam Allardyce will be hoping his side can earn themselves a valuable win as his side entered the game nine points behind the Magpies in 19th place.

Shelvey has featured 18 times in the Premier League for the Magpies this season and has netted once in those league appearances.

The 29-year-old joined Newcastle back in 2016 from Swansea City for a fee believed to be in the region of £12m, but the Toon Army did not seem pleased by his first-half performance at all.

“Honestly, Shelvey has got to be taken off set pieces… Abysmal.”

It is clear to see the Newcastle faithful are not pleased with their midfielder’s performance in the first half of the game, with many calling out his attempted spectacular pass, which failed to amaze the fans.
