A Celtic State of Mind contributor Amy Canavan has been speaking on the latest edition of the podcast about all things relating to the Bhoys.

How much do you think members of the Bhoys' squad are worth according to Transfermarkt? Starting with an easy one how much do you think Odsonne Edouard is worth?

One of the topics that she spent a lot of time on was the vacant Celtic managerial position.

Canavan asserted her belief that she doesn’t think Hoops-linked Roy Keane will take the Celtic job because the Bhoys are looking to appoint a director of football.

Indeed, Keane has been mooted as a potential successor to Neil Lennon, while Manchester City’s Fergal Harkin has been reportedly earmarked as a potential director of football.

She said: “Keane is not going to come and work with a director of football; that’s not going to happen, you’re not going to have a guy come in who is going to be able to tell him what to do.

“He’d want it to be a one-man show.”

Do you think Keane would be a good replacement for Lennon?

No, he is finished

Yes, he could do a job

TIF Thoughts on Keane…

The 49-year-old former Manchester United midfielder has been heavily linked with the Celtic job since Neil Lennon left the club in February, with plenty of pundits having their say on the prospect of the Irishman taking over at the helm.

However, he has apparently turned down the role in the past and has not managed a team since 2011.

He has also mainly managed in the Championship with both Ipswich Town and Sunderland.

So, does he even have that pedigree to take on a job like the Celtic role? We would argue that he doesn’t.

Whoever takes on the vacant Celtic role has to rebuild the club, and some expect there to be a major exodus, so you would think that the Bhoys should be looking at managers who have a record of rebuilding teams like Eddie Howe or Chris Wilder.

The Bhoys are also thought to be looking to appoint a director of football, and Howe has worked with David Webb before, who has also been linked with a role at Celtic Park.

Keane seems like he would be too stubborn to work with a director of football and has been out of the game as a manager for 10 years now, so we are not convinced that he is the right man for the job.
