Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to comments made by defender Japhet Tanganga following their victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.
It’s a result that keeps their very faint hopes of qualifying for the Champions League via the top four alive, and that’s important as it’s now their only chance of making the Champions League next season after their loss to Dinamo Zagreb.
The 21-year-old defender, valued at £7.2m on Transfermarkt, put in a very commendable display on the day, making two tackles, one interception and completing 74% of his passes as Spurs came away with a 2-0 victory (as per WhoScored).
Taking to social media yesterday, he posted about his joy at being able to ‘bounce back’ with three points after the difficult week that Spurs had had, both abroad and at home.
His message was received with great joy from the supporters, with some hinting that they want to see him in the team more often after that display:
“Brilliant performance from you! Hopefully you get in the starting line up more often from now on!”
Should Tanganga be playing more?
Yes
No
If the criticism of fellow right-back Matt Doherty is anything to go by, a prolonged run in the team could be a reality sooner rather than later.
