21-year-old Welsh, who made his Celtic debut last season in a Premiership game against Hamilton, has played a part in the first team this season. He’s made six appearances in the Premiership, also scoring against Motherwell in their 2-1 win earlier this month (as per Transfermarkt).

Welsh has also played for the Hoops in the Europa League. Other Celtic fans also expressed their delight about the news involving the 21-year-old.

“Somehow that’s one of the best bits of news I’ve heard all season.”

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

With Christopher Jullien currently out injured because of a knee injury and Hatem Abd Elhamed having departed, the Hoops certainly need some extra options in the backline and Welsh’s return to fitness would help them shore up that position.

Celtic are yet to lose in the league in February and Welsh has featured in three games this month. So his presence might just be a boost for the Bhoys.
