Rangers fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Gers transfer quiz. According to Transfermarkt, the £4.5million signing of which player has been the club's most expensive signing so far this summer?

So far this season, the £270k-rated winger has made 14 Scottish Premiership appearances for Derek McInnes’ side, scoring two goals and providing one assist, as well as averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.69 – ranking him as the club’s 11th-best performer in the Scottish top flight.

And, it would appear that the 23-year-old’s performances have caught the eye of Rangers’ manager, Steven Gerrard, as it has been reported Gers are interested in bringing Wright to Ibrox in January.

This was one subject of conversation on a recent episode of the Transfer Talk podcast, in which Sheth some shed light on Rangers’ interest in the winger.

He said: “It looks like they want to strengthen when they are strong, as Sir Alex Ferguson always used to prescribe when he was at Manchester United. Rangers [are] interested in signing Aberdeen attacking midfielder Scott Wright.

“Wright is entering the final months of his contract at Aberdeen and the expectation is that Rangers will attempt to sign him on a pre-contract agreement. Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has conceded that Wright will leave.”

TIF Thoughts on Dharmesh Sheth’s comments regarding Scott Wright…

From Sheth’s comments, it would very much appear as if Wright to Rangers isn’t near completion, but with Wright set to leave the Gers have every chance of signing him.

As for the journalist’s comments regarding Gers strengthening while they are already strong, this is somewhat of an understatement, as the Ibrox side currently lead the Scottish Premiership by a whopping 21 points.

And, the addition of Wright would provide Gerrard with further depth in the wide areas of his squad, adding to the likes of Ryan Kent, Brandon Barker, Glenn Middleton, Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe – all of whom are comfortable operating from the left-wing.
