Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have taken to Twitter in order to slam the performance of Ben Davies against Sheffield United.

So far this season, Davies has found himself in and out of the Spurs first-team following the £27 million arrival of fellow left-back Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, with Davies starting seven Premier League fixtures and making a further five appearances from the bench, prior to the Premier League clash with the Blades.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

However, with Jose Mourinho opting to play a back three against Sheffield United, Davies was given the nod as one of the 57-year-old’s central defenders, although, it would appear that the performance of the £15.75 million-rated 27-year-old did not best please many of the Tottenham fans.

“Ben Davies pleaseee!! Shocking defending, sitting back no pressure, allowing them to deliver the ball in the box…Same tactics!”

@rickylee_10

“It’s painful watching Ben Davies kick it to them every time he gets it yes, but I feel any formation would have worked so far, Sheff United aren’t up for it are they.”

@forty_winks8

All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Tottenham fans are far from happy with the performance of Davies, with some claiming they never want to see the left-back fielded at centre-back again, while others stated their belief that the Welshman is painful to watch.
