Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph has taken to Twitter to share that left-back Diego Laxalt, who is currently on loan at Celtic from AC Milan, may be available on a ‘cut-price deal’ in the summer transfer window.

Per Transfermarkt, the Uruguayan’s market value is £4.5m at present, but according to Joseph, Milan valued him at double that price for a permanent deal in October, when he ultimately made his loan switch to Parkhead for the 2020/21 campaign in a deal that didn’t include an option-to-buy clause.

Now, though, it seems that the Serie A leaders are keen to sell the 27-year-old and willing to lower his price tag in order to secure a permanent summer move for him.

So, how have these Celtic fans reacted to Anthony Joseph’s tweet?

Many Hoops supporters have replied to the Sky Sports reporter’s tweet to make it clear that they wouldn’t be overly keen on Laxalt, who is Celtic’s 14th-highest-rated player in the Premiership for the 2020/21 campaign, per WhoScored, to move to Parkhead on a permanent basis, with some criticising the player’s quality.

“I wouldn’t pay any more that £2.5 million for him, bit inconsistent, funnily enough his signing coincided with that horrendous run”

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

“The boy bit , hes 27 and the 20m bit when hes already been let go / binned by the big club ac milan

He is on way down, value wise no?

Eddy is a different animal , different age and different proposition altogether

But thats just my opinion”

“Not what Celtic should go for.

Too old, unlikely to go up on value if we buy him.

Cuts inside too much, doesn’t offer the width we need.

Crossing too inconsistent.”

“Can’t cross a ball… for that sort of money we should be getting better.”

“Pay the 9mil for him. We paid 9 mil for Eddie and he’s going for no less than 30m. The bhoy Laxalt will be a massive investment as he would go for 15-20mil in a few years”

So, judging by these tweets, it certainly seems like Laxalt has failed to impress many Hoops fans via his performances for his loan club this term.
