Supporters of Celtic have recently taken to social media to slam Anthony Ralston for his performance in the Bhoys’ clash with Livingston.
In their latest outing, Neil Lennon’s side faced David Martindale’s Lions at Celtic Park (per Transfermarkt).
Lennon deployed his side in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Livi and starting at right-back for the Hoops was 22-year-old defender Ralston (as per BBC).
Over those games, he had bagged two goals and provided two assists.
During the game at Parkhead, lots of Hoops fans flocked to Twitter to fume over the performance of the young defender.
So, what did these Celtic fans have to say about the performance of Anthony Ralston?
“No one will ever convince me that Mikey Johnston or Tony Ralston will be good players for Celtic. Both are absolutely rotten.”
“Who’s actually stood and watched Ralston and thought he was good enough to play for Celtic”
During the first half of the match with Livi, the right-back picked up a yellow card for a late tackle on Craig Sibbald and the club’s tweet relaying the development had fans fuming, too (per Celtic).
Should Anthony Ralston have played against Livingston?
No, he's not good enough
Yes, he wasn't that bad
“The fact he still is getting a game in 2021 epitomises everything wrong with this football club”
“Can see why he doesn’t play”
“Could’ve easily been red. Needs subbed at half time”
Prior to the game against Martindale’s outfit at Parkhead, Ralston had not made a single appearance for the Hoops in any competition this season (per Transfermarkt).
“Let’s be honest, none of us thought we’d get to see Ralston play for Celtic again.”
“Ralston is possibly in the top 5 of worst ever Celtic players I’ve watched live m8… That bad”
As can be seen in these responses from Celtic fans, lots of them were frustrated with Ralston for his performance against Livingston.
