Journalist Matt Davies-Adams has recently discussed the current mood surrounding Wolverhampton Wanderers following their win against Chorley.

During the FA Cup fourth round, on Friday, the travelled to Victory Park to take on the non-league side and a goal from Vitinha sealed a 1-0 win (per BBC).

He said: “On Wolves, I thought the goal, or the reaction to it at least, kind of summed up the general malaise around them at the moment.

“Vitinha, first goal in senior football, absolute beaut and he looked like he couldn’t have been less impressed and it wasn’t like he was mobbed by his teammates.

“Normally, Nuno’s up and down, berating his players, getting in the fourth official’s ear, cajoling his team and he looks so passive at the moment.

“The whole setup at Wolves just feels a bit flat and a bit, ‘It’s not quite as good as last season, is it?’ It’s really odd how it just seems to have dipped like that.”
