Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has issued an important update on Mohamed Salah’s future with Liverpool, amid rumoured interest from both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Salah’s former Egypt team-mate Mohamed Aboutrika admitted in a recent interview with beIN Sports, that Salah was ‘unhappy’ with the Reds, and revealed that Liverpool were looking at moving him on.

But, he does now seem to be angling for a new deal, which appears to be what Sheath is reacting to.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk Podcast (58:56), reporter Sheth issued an update on Salah’s future at Anfield, and insisted that he is focused on breaking records with Jurgen Klopp’s side, which will be pleasing to hear for the club’s supporters.

“Seems to be positive words for Liverpool fans. Salah says he wants to stay at Anfield for as long as he can.

“This comes a few weeks remember after he spoke about a possible interest in playing for either Real Madrid or Barcelona. Salah has a contract until 2023 and says his focus is breaking more records with Liverpool.”

Salah and his Liverpool team-mates are set to return to league action on Thursday evening, when they take on title-chasing rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are just a point clear of Spurs in the Premier League table, and will be keen to put together a positive run of results at the earliest of opportunities, as they look to retain the title.

TIF Thoughts on Sheth’s update on Salah’s future with Liverpool after his previous links with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid….

There may have been real concern amongst plenty of the Anfield faithful after hearing that Salah was contemplating a move elsewhere in the coming months. He’s been a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s side in recent seasons, and has already scored 18 goals in 28 appearances this term for the Reds.

He’s shown that he can perform to a high standard in the top-flight with Liverpool, and supporters will be hoping that he can help them challenge for the title once again.

If talk over his future is easing after this recent update from Sheth, then you would imagine that Salah will be looking at taking Liverpool higher up the table at the earliest of opportunities this term.
