Fans of Celtic have taken to Twitter to heap praise on the performance of Hoops midfielder, Ismaila Soro, for his performance in the club’s Europa League victory against Lille.

Since joining Celtic from Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv in what was a £2.07 million deal back in January of this year, Soro had, prior to the Lille fixture, featured just four times for Neil Lennon’s side.

However, with nothing left to play for in the Europa League, as Celtic had already been eliminated from the competition, Lennon gave the £900k-rated midfielder the nod against the Ligue 1 side, and the defensive midfielder grabbed his chance to impress with both hands.

Being awarded a 7/10 match rating by The Herald, Soro was said to have ‘caught the eye at the base of midfield’, as well as protecting Celtic’s backline ‘admirably’ in their 3-2 win against the French side.
