Many Celtic fans have flocked to Twitter to slam Scott Brown for his performance in the Hoops’ Scottish League Cup loss to Ross County on Sunday afternoon.

Brown started in midfield versus Ross County, with the Hoops lining up in a 3-5-2 shape for Sunday’s game.

The Hoops captain’s presence in the starting XI may not have come as a big surprise to many Celtic fans, given that he has been a regular for the side throughout the 2020/21 campaign, featuring in every Celtic fixture this term.

However, Celtic came into this game off the back of a poor run of form and taking into account their loss to Ross County, they have now managed to win just one of their last nine games in all competitions.

As a result of their poor form and given how heavily Brown has featured for the Hoops this term, perhaps he hadn’t been in the good books of some Celtic supporters heading into Sunday’s game and judging by these tweets, it certainly seems as though he’s failed to redeem himself via his performance versus the Staggies.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say about Brown’s performance versus Ross County?

Plenty of Hoops fans indicated that they were frustrated by Brown’s performance versus Ross County, with some supporters of the Glasgow club suggesting that he never should have started on Sunday.

Former Scotland manager Alex McLeish recently shared that he doesn’t think Brown, who is valued at £1.08 million (as per Transfermarkt), is to blame for the Hoops’ poor form despite how often he plays for Neil Lennon’s side but that didn’t stop these Hoops fans from slating the 35-year-old on Twitter.
