Many Celtic fans have been fuming at the latest comments that Martin O’Neill has recently made about Neil Lennon.
Herald and Times Sport recently relayed a tweet involving The Herald’s Wednesday sports page. It carried an interview involving O’Neill, in which he talked about Lennon.
The former Celtic boss was quoted as saying that Lennon isn’t to be blamed for the current situation at Celtic. Instead, he blamed Boli Bolingoli and the pandemic as more prominent factors contributing to the club’s poor start to the season. O’Neill also said that fans’ concerns over losing out on a 10th title in a row are ‘premature’ and he backed Lennon to turn things around at Parkhead.
This tweet involving O’Neill’s comments caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who made their opinions clear about what the 68-year-old had to say.

I hope our board have a better plan up the sleeve than PR fluff articles like this. Next up will be Gordon Strachan with similar nonsense.

Earlier in the season, Bolingoli had flown to Spain without informing Celtic and failed to quarantine upon his return to Scotland. He even featured in a game against Kilmarnock soon after. As a result, Celtic had two of their matches postponed.
The Hoops are currently 11 points behind Rangers in the table and have won just a single game out of their last four league outings. It has been reported that Eddie Howe, O’Neill and Roy Keane have already been contacted by the club. Some other Celtic fans also flocked to O’Neill’s latest comments.

Some of these Celtic fans feel that this is a PR exercise from the club and they are angry about what O’Neill had to say.
Lennon has already criticised the attitude of the Celtic players, and following the club’s loss to Ferencvaros in the qualifying stages of the Champions League, he revealed that some players don’t want to be at the club. This may suggest that the players are also to blame for the disjointed campaign to this point and that Lennon is not the only person at fault.
