Ben Daniel of We Are Tottenham TV has been discussing the former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino following his recent appearance on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show

The 48-year-old managed the Lilywhites between May 2014 and November 2019, taking charge of no fewer than 293 matches (as per Transfermarkt). However, after a difficult start to the 2019/20 campaign, the Argentine was sacked by the club and swiftly replaced by the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

During his time with the north London club, Pochettino guided them to the UEFA Champions League final but sadly, they were beaten by their fellow Premier League club Liverpool.

Having watched the former boss discuss his time with Tottenham so fondly, this prompted Daniel to discuss Pochettino during one of his recent YouTube videos and here is what he had to say:

“I think he is still in love with the club, I don’t think that’s going to go away anytime soon, even if he is in another job. He is still going to be in love with Tottenham, there are no two ways about that.

“Pochettino always plays poker with his cards faced down, he’s not one to give anything away.

“He’ll be back one day, I really do believe that.”

TIF Thoughts on Ben Daniel’s comments regarding Mauricio Pochettino…

It’s clear from what the YouTuber has had to say that he still holds Pochettino in extremely high regard and that’s understandable given he guided Spurs to two third-placed finishes, a second-place finish and a fourth-place finish (as per BBC Sport) as well as the aforementioned European final.

In our view, the former international defender certainly deserves the respect and the love of the club’s supporters for all he achieved during his time in North London. If Spurs are to go one better under Mourinho and win silverware, you could certainly make a case that says the foundations laid by Pochettino have been key in any future successes.
