The Athletic’s Wolverhampton Wanderers correspondent Tim Spiers has recently discussed the Old Gold’s Dutch defender Ki-Jana Hoever.

During the recent transfer window, the Old Gold forked out £8.82m to seal the arrival of the Amsterdam-born defender from Liverpool (per Transfermarkt).

While with the Reds, the 18-year-old Dutchman had made just four first-team appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side in which he scored one goal.

Since his arrival at Molineux, Hoever has made just two first-team appearances for Wolves, both of which came in the Premier League and were from the bench.

During the latest episode of The Athletic’s The Molineux View podcast, Spiers discussed Hoever and how much game time he will be getting for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

To kick off this quiz on Conor Coady, what shirt number does the Englishman currently wear for the Old Gold?

He said: “Hoever, I think, is one who’ll play more.

“I’d be interested to see what happened if [Willy] Boly got injured or suspended because I do wonder – I know they like Hoever as a centre-half, certainly long-term – would he slot in there or would it be [Leander] Dendoncker? I’m not sure how they’d do that.

“[Nelson] Semedo, if there was any kind of issue with him, Hoever would be straight in the team. You couldn’t really say that about Vitinha or [Fabio] Silva – that they’re next in line.

“Hoever, I think, from what I’ve seen of him, he’s done very well and he’ll get game time sooner rather than later.”

TIF Thoughts on what Tim Spiers said about Ki-Jana Hoever…

As can be seen in what Spiers had to say, he believes that the young Dutchman will be getting more first-team minutes for the Old Gold before too much longer.

Would you like to see Ki-Jana Hoever getting more first-team minutes?

No, he's not that good

Yes, he's a solid player

Hopefully, when the 18-year-old defender gets his opportunity, he delivers better performances than what he did in his two cameo appearances.

Over the two substitute outings he made, Hoever earned a weak 6.29/10 average rating, making him Wolves’ fourth-worst performer in the top flight so far this term (per WhoScored).

However, it is difficult to judge the former Liverpool man based on two short appearances.
