Journalist Pete Graves has made it clear that he is hopeful that Newcastle United will get taken over at some point in the future.
Graves made an appearance on the latest episode of ‘The Greenwood & Mulliner Show’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving Newcastle United. Graves made a claim about a potential takeover of the club in the future and he is positive that the Magpies will get taken over in the future.
Back in July, a Saudi-led consortium was forced to abandon a takeover of Newcastle United and they had to withdraw their bid for the club. Later, the club had said that the Premier League had failed to act appropriately in their attempt to block the club’s takeover.

Graves was talking about a potential takeover and he is hopeful that the Magpies get taken over by the ‘right’ sort of people.
He said: “Newcastle fans are sitting here going, ‘Has everyone forgotten about what we’ve been through this summer? We’ve gone from getting linked with [Kylian] Mbappe, five minutes later, it was like, is Matty Longstaff going to sign a new deal?’ That was the reality – [whether we] could we get Matty Longstaff to sign a new deal became the priority a couple of months after we thought we were going to sign the world superstars.
“We’ve just got to carry on. I do think in time that the club will get taken over, I just hope it is by the right people.”
TIF Thoughts on Graves’ comments regarding a potential takeover…
Back in August, Sky Sports had reported that Newcastle fans had been given ‘assurances’ by the Premier League that the Saudi-backed takeover can still be reignited. The Newcastle United Supporters Trust was told that a ‘door is still open’ for talks to potentially resume in the future for a potential takeover.
Two Newcastle fans have now made attempts to ask for more information from the Premier League about the details of the failed takeover. So Toon fans can only hope that something comes out of this and some fresh developments take place about a potential takeover.
