Many Leeds United supporters have flocked to social media in order to react to a Twitter post from Erling Haaland following his brace in Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League win over Club Brugge earlier this week.
The 20-year-old striker is the son of former Leeds United player Alf-Inge Haaland, and the current Norway international was born in the city whilst his family lived there.
Haaland has been in fine form this season, scoring an impressive 17 goals in just 13 appearances since the start of the campaign (as per Transfermarkt). Although the young man has never played for Leeds, we can safely assume his links with the club and the city are the reasons many members of the Elland Road faithful follow his career closely.
How have these Leeds United fans reacted to Erling Haaland’s latest Twitter post?

Can you see Haaland following in his father's footsteps and joining Leeds one day?
Yes
No
Last week, journalist and former footballer Jan Aage Fjortoft told Fabrizio Romano of his belief that Haaland will ‘never retire before he has played in England’, claiming specifically that Leeds would be his eventual destination should he return to the country of his birth.
It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Leeds fans would love to see the £72m-rated striker sign for their club in the future. Haaland moved to the Bundesliga from RB Salzburg in January in a deal reportedly worth £18m. In our view, given his aforementioned goal return, that looks like it could be one of the bargains of the year.
While Leeds are some way off European football at present, given the youngster’s impressive goal record and the potential of an Elland Road homecoming one day, perhaps the ultimate dream of Haaland continuing his love affair with the Champions League in Leeds colours is a distant yet plausible reality.
