Many Celtic supporters have been reacting to a tweet posted by the club’s official account relaying some quotes from Neil Lennon regarding Nir Bitton.
The Hoops defeated FK Sarajevo on Thursday night in order to book their place in the UEFA Europa League group stages courtesy of a goal from Odsonne Edouard.
Bitton started the game but was substituted after ten minutes and replaced by Hatem Abd Elhamed due to injury (as per BBC Sport) and here is what the Celtic boss was quoted as saying post-match:
“He’s been superb. He rolled his ankle, twisted it so it’s a bad one. He won’t be available for the weekend or the international matches. It’s another blow to us because he’s been in brilliant form.”
Following Lennon’s update on the player’s fitness, here is how a sample of the club’s faithful have responded via social media.
Big loss that. Been quality recently and started the game looking good

Can Celtic cope without Nir Bitton?
Yes
No
That is a blow cause he’s the most underrated player at the club. Calmness personified.

It’s clear that the Celtic supporters have been impressed with the 28-year-old’s recent performances and are disappointed to learn of the severity of his injury.
Based on the above replies, they will no doubt be hoping he will be fit and ready to return to action after the international break.
