Many Celtic fans have been fuming at the performance of Mohamed Elyounoussi in the club’s 3-3 draw against Aberdeen on Sunday.

While the Hoops were 1-0 down at half-time at Pittodrie, Callum McGregor made it 1-1 in the second half. Ryan Hedges restored the lead for Aberdeen but Celtic scored twice in two minutes to go 3-2 up.

They failed to hold on to the lead though, as Lewis Ferguson slotted away a penalty in stoppage time to make it 3-3 (as per BBC Sport).

Elyounoussi was on loan at Celtic in the 2019/20 season and he returned to Parkhead on loan for the 2020/21 campaign as well.

In the current campaign, the 26-year-old has made 15 appearances in all competitions and he has directly contributed to nine goals. In the Premiership, he has contributed to four goals in ten games for the Bhoys (as per Transfermarkt).

Some other Celtic fans were also fuming about his performance against Aberdeen on Sunday.

Elyounoussi picked up a rating of 6.56 on Sunday and only five Celtic players picked up better ratings than him in the game. It shows that the performance from him wasn’t too bad and perhaps, the criticism from the fans is a bit unjustified.

Having said that, as many as 16 players have picked up better average ratings than him in the Premiership for Celtic this season. So, he might need to improve his performances soon.
