A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from The Chronicle that contains a link to their live blog from the Toon’s 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It includes quotes from Steve Bruce’s interview with Sky Sports after the game, when the Toon boss claimed that ‘it would have been unfair’ if his side had lost the game and that he was ‘delighted’ that the Toon left Molineux with a point.
Newcastle were trailing thanks to a goal from Raul Jimenez, but a free-kick from Jacob Murphy sealed a point for the Toon despite them only managing to have five shots at goal in the whole match.
These comments from Bruce have annoyed these Newcastle fans.
So, what did these Newcastle fans think of Steve Bruce’s comments?
He was watching a different game!! The only way it would have been unfair was because of the actual score but not anything else – the remainder of the performance was shocking!!

We only had 2 shots on target and 37% possession ? The bloke is deluded.

Do you think Bruce is right?
No, Wolves were robbed
Yes, the game plan worked
What game has he seen

This point moved the Toon onto eight points from their first six league games and has them seven points clear of the relegation zone.
However, although Newcastle did not offer much as an attacking threat for the whole game at Molineux, they did manage to restrict Wolves to just three shots on target, which is an improvement from the 14 that Manchester United had in their previous league game.
Despite this, many Toon fans were still unhappy with these comments from Bruce.
Was all Wolves nearly the whole game we had that one shot on target and it would of been cruel when is he away

What planet is this fella on? Team lacked ideas, intent, passion a game plan, I could go on and on!

Considering the Toon went a goal down to Wolves late on and ended up leaving Molineux with something, you can see why Bruce would be ‘delighted.’
However, we also can see why many Toon fans are annoyed at these comments because, as an attacking force Newcastle offered very little.
