Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news that the club recently relayed on social media.
The club’s recent tweet confirmed that their defender Hatem Abd Elhamed has tested positive for the virus. The tweet carried a link to a statement on the club’s official website and it provided further details about Elhamed’s current situation.
So, what did these Celtic fans make of the Elhamed news?

It is so far past being a joke now.
Lets pray the entire backline come Saturday is on top form, as we have no defenders now to cover anyone having a bad game, or taking an injury before or during it.
One guess what the opponents tactics will be— PeejPrime (@PeejPrime) October 12, 2020
These internationals should be stopped with all these players testing positive, its not just Celtic players either its all over the place.

The statement from the club confirmed that Elhamed will have to enter a 13-day period of isolation and the club’s medical staff will be in constant dialogue with the Israeli defender.
Nir Bitton and Odsonne Edouard have already tested positive, ahead of Celtic’s game against Rangers. Ryan Christie meanwhile, will miss that Old Firm derby as he is self-isolating as he came in close contact with Stuart Armstrong who tested positive.
Some other Celtic fans also made their frustration clear about this situation.

These Celtic fans aren’t happy that the international games are being played, despite players testing positive for the virus.
Elhamed has made nine appearances in all competitions this season for Celtic. He has played six Premiership games. He has played at right-back and at centre-back, picking up a decent Whoscored rating of 7.01 in the league.
This shows that Elhamed is an important player for the Bhoys and his absence might be a worry for the club. Since Elhamed, Bitton and Edouard have tested positive on international duty, it is understandable why Celtic fans don’t have a liking for the international games.
