Speaking on a recent episode of the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the potential departure of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.

Since arriving at Spurs from Milton Keynes Dons in what was a £5.97 million deal back in 2015, Alli has gone on to feature 225 times for the club, scoring 63 goals and providing 55 assists along the way.

However, after being substituted at half time in the club’s opening Premier League fixture of the season against Everton, the £57.6 million-rated 24-year-old was left out of the squad for the club’s two league fixtures against Southampton and Newcastle United, as well as their Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea on Tuesday, but did appear against Maccabi Haifa on Thursday, winning and scoring a late penalty.

With the midfielder appearing out of favour under Jose Mourinho at present, Paris Saint-Germain have been reported to be interested in striking a deal with Spurs for Alli and this potential move was one subject of conversation on a recent episode of the Here We Go podcast, with Romano claiming that talks are still ongoing between the player and the Ligue 1 side.

He said: “Dele Alli, for Tottenham, is a player who can leave the club [over the] last days [of the transfer window].

“Paris Saint-Germain are still in contact with his agent. So, it’s not a done deal, [it] is not an easy deal, but Paris Saint-Germain are talking with the agents of Dele Alli and there is a chance.

“So, pay attention, because Dele Alli can really leave the club [over the] next days.

“He can be one of the players [that moves in] the last hours, [or] the last days of the transfer window, because Dele Alli, in this moment, is absolutely not happy with what’s happening – with Jose Mourinho not [playing] him.”

TIF Thoughts…

From Romano’s comments, it is clear that the journalist is of the belief that Alli could well be leaving Spurs over the next few days and that the midfielder is unhappy with being left out of the Tottenham squad in recent weeks.
