Many Newcastle United supporters have flocked to Twitter and have been reacting to a post from the club’s defender Fabian Schär.
The 28-year-old missed Newcastle’s first three Premier League games of the season with a shoulder injury and despite starting the game against Burnley at the weekend, he was substituted due to a fitness issue after just 55 minutes (as per Transfermarkt).
On Tuesday afternoon, the £11.7m-rated Swiss international posted an image of himself seemingly training with Vladimir Petkovic’s side, prompting many of the club’s supporters to respond in the replies section. Here is what a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful had to say.
Shoulder must be OK then? Hope so man. Come back fitter. #Howaythelads #Nufc #keepingthefaith #ToonArmy

Judging by the above responses, it appears many of these supporters assume the player’s injury must not be serious given he has joined up with the national team.
Switzerland will face Croatia, Spain and Germany during this upcoming international break and along with the fans, Steve Bruce will be hoping he returns to the North East of England following those fixtures unscathed and ready for action.
