A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from The Chronicle that contains a link to an article on their website with quotes from Allan Saint-Maximin.
The Frenchman, when speaking to NUFC TV, after he signed his new six-year deal with the Toon, spoke very highly of Steve Bruce. (NUFC TV via The Chronicle)
The 23-year-old claimed he has ‘never had a trainer‘ like Bruce and that he speaks to Saint-Maximin and tries to make him feel better.
Saint-Maximin also claimed that he ‘really likes‘ Bruce and that he hopes the pair can continue working together for a ‘long time.’
These comments from the 23-year-old have baffled many Newcastle fans.
So, what did these Toon fans think of Saint-Maximin’s comments on Steve Bruce?
Are you confused at these comments?
Yes, not sure why he said that
No, it is good that he likes Bruce

Steve Bruce clueless training sessions, we’ve heard the stories how poor some of them are. What was it, Bruce training methods are out of touch ?

Ya, and when a bigger club with ambition and win trophies comes in for him he’ll say the same thing.

Saint-Maximin had been hinting at leaving the Toon in an interview released last week, but it seems as if Newcastle have acted decisively and sealed a new six-year contract for the winger that will make him one of the Toon’s highest-paid players.
These comments on Bruce suggest he likes the Toon boss and is hoping to spend a lot of time with him, which has confused some Toon fans but others think that Saint-Maximin likes Bruce because of the amount of time off he gives his players.
Aye …. 3 days a week off and minimal meetings on tactics ???

Danny Rose revealed while he was at Newcastle that Bruce gave his players two or three days off if they won, so we think these Newcastle fans are probably referencing that.
We think that it is good that Saint-Maximin and Bruce have a good relationship, and hopefully, for Newcastle, that leads to good displays from the Frenchman who was incredible in his last Premier League game.
So, it will be interesting to see if he can continue that sort of form now that he has signed a new contract.
