First up in this Steven Gerrard quiz, how old is the former Liverpool man?

During this recent edition of The Transfer Window podcast, Castles discussed Mbappe’s future and he named the Reds as one of the clubs that the Frenchman is “interested in moving to”.

He said: “You also have Kylian Mbappe coming up on next summer’s market, having told Paris Saint-Germain that he will not extend his contract and he intends to leave when his contract drops down to that final year next summer.

“He’s told friends he’s interested in moving to Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, [he] also likes Manchester United.

“Manchester City, you would expect to play in that market. If you know Kylian Mbappe’s available, you start doing the work to take a player like that in a year’s time, because you can build a team around him.”

TIF Thoughts…

Considering that Mbappe has scored 92 goals and provided 55 assists in 127 appearances for PSG, it may be fair to say that Castles’ claim that the 21-year-old is “interested” in joining the Reds might be an exciting one for Liverpool supporters, given that it may be fair to say this is a stellar goal contribution record.

With the Frenchman currently valued at £162m according to Transfermarkt and with it potentially being likely that his impressive form for PSG will attract plenty of suitors should he become available for transfer next summer, it may be fair to say that it could be a difficult task for any club to secure Mbappe’s signature.

However, knowing that Liverpool have enjoyed plenty of success in recent years, winning the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League and the 2019/20 Premier League, it mightn’t come as a surprise if they are in the running for the Frenchman’s signature and it will be interesting to see if Mbappe shows a preference for a move to Merseyside over any other club, in order to potentially make this transfer happen.
