Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has been sharing his praise and admiration for the current owners at the Yorkshire club.

This comes after the midfield man recently made a guest appearance on Leeds-themed podcast Leeds That where he spoke about a range of different things concerning the club.

Who did Leeds sign from a La Liga side in September?

On the topic of Leeds’ current owners and their impact on the club, Phillips had this to say on the matter.

He said: “It’s run magnificently. The owner coming in and doing what he’s done, buying the stadium, buying the training ground, changing the training ground altogether to what the manager wants for the team.

“Then obviously you’ve got Angus [Kinnear], you’ve got Victor [Orta], bringing players in and then convincing Marcelo [Bielsa] to join as well, which was the pinnacle probably, of the rise of what we’ve been doing and I just think it’s massive for Leeds as a football club, but I think the people above can take a lot of credit for what they’ve done, because without them, then it wouldn’t be possible, especially Andrea [Radrizzani].”

Andrea Radrizzani was appointed to the board at Leeds back in January 2017 following his purchase of a 50% stake in the club.

During his time at the club, Radrizzani has seen the club get promoted back to the Premier League after a 16-year absence and also the appointment of current manager Marcelo Bielsa (per LUFC).

Also mentioned in the podcast was Victor Orta, the club’s sporting director who was appointed back in May 2017 after previously working as Middlesbrough’s head of recruitment.

TIF Thoughts on Kalvin Phillips’s comments on Leeds’ owners…

It’s great to hear this praise that Phillips has for Leeds’ owners who he clearly sees as being an integral part of the club.

Hopefully, the club can have a successful campaign in the Premier League this season and not get relegated by the end of it.
