A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was posted by Whites-focused journalist Phil Hay in which he shared a link to an article that he and David Ornstein recently wrote for The Athletic detailing the collapse of Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance’s transfer to Leeds.

It had been reported earlier this week by Fabrizio Romano that Cuisance had signed a deal with the Whites to make him a Leeds United player until June 2025 with this article from The Athletic explaining that ‘Cuisance was ready to join and Leeds were ready to sign him’.

However, that transfer is now off, as the Yorkshire-based club have ‘pulled out of the deal’ due to ‘concerns’ about the player’s medical.

After Hay shared this report via a tweet, plenty of Whites supporters replied to his post to react to this article.

Some Leeds fans replied to the journalist’s tweet to share some sadness over the collapse of this deal.

Who did Leeds sign from a La Liga side in September?

However, not all Whites supporters were upset about this and some replied to this tweet to back the club’s decision to pull out of the deal.

In this article, it was stated that Leeds do still ‘have options’ and they will now ‘look at alternatives’ to Cuisance and some other Leeds fans replied to this tweet to ask Hay who the club may target instead of the Frenchman.

The Whites have been linked with a move for Udinese midfielder Rodrigo de Paul in the current transfer window and some Leeds supporters replied to this tweet to call for the club to recruit him instead of Cuisance.

So, as can be seen in the replies to this tweet, there has been a mixed response from Leeds fans to this news, with plenty of Whites supporters seemingly more concerned with who the club will now target instead of Cuisance than the finer details of this transfer’s collapse.

With the current international Premier League transfer window set to close on 5th October, it will be interesting to see if Leeds manage to get an alternative target signed before time is up.
