A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Lee Ryder that claims that Bellagraph Nova Group (BNG) have not advanced beyond talks with Mike Ashley’s legal teams and that their bid of £280m has not even been presented to the Toon’s owner yet.

Who will the Toon play in the next round of the Carabao Cup after they beat Newport County on penalties?

The interest of BNG first emerged in August, and they made a bid of £280m and that led to Ashley not deeming the group to be serious as it was well below his valuation of the club.

In response to this, it appears as if the Bellagraph Nova Group have not upped their bid but insist that they are still in talks to buy the Toon from Ashley.

This has drawn the attention of these Newcastle fans who don’t believe this report.

Do you think this bid will go anywhere?

No, they are a bunch of timewasters

Yes, this could happen

Yes, this could happen

Bellagraph Nova Group involved Michael Chopra in their first bid but never heard anything back from Ashley’s lawyers as he didn’t see them as serious bidders for the club.

It is hard to see why Ashley’s view would have changed if BNG is proposing the same amount of money as before.

This post continued to draw many Toon fans’ attention, with one even claiming he would rather be a Sunderland fan than have this group own Newcastle.

It remains to be seen what happens with this bid, but the fact it hasn’t got past Ashley’s legal teams suggests that the Toon owner might not be that interested in the bid despite bold claims from Evangeline Shen from the group.

What is clear is that many Newcastle fans do not think that Bellagraph Nova Group is genuine and think that this is a load of rubbish.
