A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Whites midfielder Kalvin Phillips in which he shared that he is ‘excited for international duty with England this week.’

Phillips made his England debut last month in the Three Lions’ UEFA Nations League clash versus Denmark.

The 24-year-old Leeds United man earned the fifth-highest overall WhoScored rating (6.74) of any England player in that match, as he made the highest number of tackles (five) and the joint-highest number of interceptions (two) of any Three Lions player in that fixture, as per WhoScored. Furthermore, only three England players played more accurate long-balls (six) than Phillips played in that match.

With all of that in mind, it may be fair to say that Phillips delivered an impressive performance for England on his international debut and as a result, it may not come as a big surprise that plenty of Whites fans replied to this tweet positively, with some sharing that they are proud of the £10.8m-rated Leeds midfielder and others taking this opportunity to wish him luck with his latest England call-up.

Phillips has enjoyed a positive start to the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, earning the fifth-highest overall WhoScored rating (7.15) of any Leeds player in the league so far this term and with that in mind, it mightn’t be surprising that some Whites fans shared praise for the 24-year-old in response to this tweet, with one particular Whites supporter calling for the midfielder to sign a new deal with the Yorkshire-based club.

So, as can be seen from these Leeds fans’ replies to this tweet, it seems as though plenty of Whites supporters are happy for Phillips and are excited to see him in action for his national team, with England set to face Wales in a friendly match before taking on Belgium and Denmark in the Nations League during the current international break.
