Many Celtic fans have been discussing the latest comments that former player Beram Kayal has recently made about the club.

Kayal was recently talking to the Daily Record and while discussing Celtic’s capture of Shane Duffy, he revealed that he would ‘love’ to return to Parkhead. He also said that it would be ‘amazing’ for him to help the club win their 10th Premiership title in a row this season.

Starting with an easy one - which club did Celtic sign Moussa Dembele from?

Kayal revealed that he is currently ‘open to everything’. He ended by saying: “I’ll have the phone on waiting for him [Neil Lennon] to call if he needs me!”

These comments from Israeli, who is currently a free agent, caught the attention of many Celtic fans. They made it clear that they would not like Kayal back at Parkhead.

Would you like Celtic to re-sign Kayal?

Kayal had joined Celtic from Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2010 for a fee of £1.62 million. He left the club in January 2015 when he joined Brighton and Hove Albion (as per Transfermarkt).

Some other Celtic fans also began talking about the possibility of Kayal returning to Parkhead.

No thanks. Not a retirement home. Wanted to leave at a time and only wanting back now because he has no “better” options

All in all, these Celtic fans wouldn’t like to see Kayal return to the club anytime soon. One fan feels that he is too old to play for the Bhoys.

Given the makeup of Celtic’s current midfield, which boasts the likes of Callum McGregor, Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham and David Turnbull, they might not need another midfielder unless someone leaves. Nir Bitton can also play in the middle, so as things stand, signing another midfielder in Kayal might not make too much sense despite his desire to seek a Hoops return.
