Many Celtic fans have been discussing the latest news update involving Alfie Doughty that recently emerged on social media.
The Glasgow Times recently reported that Celtic have had their second bid for Doughty rejected by Charlton Athletic.
Their second offer stood in the region of around £650,000 and the report claims that Charlton are currently holding out for more cash in a potential deal for the 20-year-old.
This update caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who took to Twitter to express their opinion about the news involving Doughty.

He’s not even a left back he’s more of a midfielder. Celtic as usual though. Clueless

The report from the Glasgow Times also claims that the Hoops could look to offer Doughty a pre-contract deal in January, as the youngster’s contract at Charlton runs out in the summer of 2021.
Doughty found the back of the net for his current club in their recent League One clash against Crewe Alexandra. Some other Celtic fans also made their opinion clear about the news involving the 20-year-old.
Someone else is going to get him cause Lawwell is stubborn int they https://t.co/Oy3blB4MSR

See if you want him, buy him. Don’t increase your bid by a tenner a week https://t.co/8EnkzJiKcI

Some of these Celtic fans are annoyed at the club for having had another bid rejected for Doughty, who is a left midfielder by trade but can also play at left-back or in the central midfield position.
With Boli Bolingoli having left Celtic to join Istanbul Basaksehir on loan, the club might need a player who can potentially add depth to the left-back spot. It has been reported that signing a left-back happens to be a priority for the Bhoys.
Doughty is someone who can play in that position and at 20, he might still improve as a player in the future. So, signing the Charlton man this summer could be a sensible move for the Bhoys.
