Many Celtic fans have slammed the performance of Greg Taylor following the club’s 2-1 win over St. Mirren in the Premiership on Wednesday night.
The Hoops found themselves 1-0 down early on in the game after Lee Erwin’s goal. Despite that, Celtic fought back in the first half, with Shane Duffy scoring a goal and James Forrest edging the Hoops in front 15 minutes later. The game also saw Odsonne Edouard miss a penalty.
Having been left on the bench for the weekend’s 5-0 victory over Ross County, Taylor was reinstalled to the starting lineup for the visit to St. Mirren – but some Celtic fans weren’t happy with the Scotsman’s performance and they made it very clear on social media.
I’m going to get this out the way now . And not mention it again tonight . Greg taylor is one of the worse Celtic Players I have ever seen.

The Scotsman has now made five Premiership appearances for the Bhoys this season and has two assists to his name, with both of those assists coming in the club’s first game of the campaign against Hamilton (as per Transfermarkt).
Some other Celtic fans were also fuming at his performance on Wednesday.
Greg Taylor still honking

Greg taylor is absolute garbage. Never a wing back. New one required.

Brilliant 3 points but why change a 5-0 winning team ? Klimala has potential but he’s a project, Greg Taylor is a very average LB and certainly not a LWB it’s like playing with 10 men when he’s in the team #neveracelticplayer

The game saw Taylor make the highest number of interceptions for the Hoops (three). He also made three clearances and had the joint-second-best tally in that regard for the club (as per WhoScored).
These statistics may suggest that his performance wasn’t too bad from a defensive point of view. So perhaps Celtic fans are wrong to criticise the 22-year-old for his performance.
