Supporters of Celtic have been reacting to quotes from Neil Lennon regarding Shane Duffy which were posted to social media by the club.
On Friday, the Hoops shared quotes from a press conference in which Lennon discussed the recent signing of the defender.
Lennon said: “Shane will go straight into the squad. It’s a great bit of business by the club and great for the supporters. We’ve got a quality player that understands the ethos of the club and it’s important to have players like that in the dressing room.”
In their next outing, the Hoops face Ross County away from home on Saturday afternoon (per BBC).
Following the quotes being shared by Celtic on Twitter, many supporters flocked to the tweet to air their thoughts.

Feels like the first time in years we’ve signed a match-fit player ready to go into the starting 11.

The Hoops secured the services of Duffy earlier this month on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion (per BBC).
With the Daily Record having touted their interest prior to Duffy’s arrival at Celtic Park, it seems the Hoops came out ahead of Burnley, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United with the signing.
lovely stuff for my fantasy https://t.co/4JpUf09Lt7

During the 2019/20 season, the Irish defender delivered a respectable 6.71/10 average rating over 19 Premier League appearances for Brighton which made him their joint-fifth-best performer (per WhoScored).
However, some supporters seemed to think that Duffy should not be going straight into the starting lineup for Celtic.
Should Shane Duffy start for Celtic against Ross County?
No, he won't be ready

Wouldn’t rush him into the squad. Let’s bed him in over the next 3-6 months and see how well he trains.

He looked nowhere near match fit against Bulgaria – said so himself afterwards , so here’s hoping he comes through it ok ?

As can be seen in these responses from Celtic fans, there was seemingly a mixed reaction following what Lennon had to say regarding Duffy.
