Some Celtic fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney after he sent a positive message to a Hoops supporter named David Balmer, who is currently battling Motor Neurone Disease.

The sister of this Celtic fan, Lynsay Balmer, whose Twitter account shares a link to balmerbattlesmnd.com which is dedicated to helping her brother share his story and raise funds for his battle against this disease, sent a tweet to the ex-Celtic defender asking him if he could give her brother David a ‘shout out’ and Tierney duly obliged, sending this fan of his former club a message which read: ‘God bless you mate keep fighting.’

Tierney’s reply drew a positive reaction from the person who sent the original tweet to the Scotland international and she shared that this reply made her brother’s day and the tweet also caught the attention of many more Celtic supporters who replied to the post, some of whom joined the defender in sending Balmer some positive messages.

Some Celtic fans replied to this tweet to praise the ex-Hoops man, with some calling this a show of ‘class’ from the 23-year-old and one particular Celtic fan saying that this is a ‘fantastic gesture’ from Tierney.
