Many Celtic fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by the Hoops’ official Twitter account which announces Shane Duffy’s signing on a season-long loan from English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
This tweet includes a link to a post on the Glasgow-based club’s official website which explains that the Republic of Ireland defender’s medical is being completed in Dublin, as Duffy is currently on international duty.
This post on the Hoops’ website also includes some comments from the 28-year-old centre-back who is quoted as saying that he is “delighted to sign this deal with Celtic” and that he is “really excited about getting going” with his new team.
Comments from Celtic boss Neil Lennon are also included in this post and the Northern Irish manager is quoted as saying that he and his side “can’t wait to get Shane involved in the squad.”
So, it appears as though both Duffy and Lennon are delighted that this loan has been completed and plenty of Celtic supporters also flocked to the Hoops’ tweet announcing this signing to share their excitement over this deal.

Some Hoops supporters replied to this post to declare that they believe Duffy will help the club in their quest to secure what would be a 10th straight Premiership title this term.

However, not all of the replies to this tweet were positive, as some Celtic fans questioned why their club waited until they had been knocked out of the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League to complete this signing.
Why sign folk after we get put out CL and not before?
— Chris Hamilton (@hammycfc) September 2, 2020
This has made my day, what a signing and plays at a position we have been badly needing for a few yearsWelcome to Celtic @shaneduffy HH pic.twitter.com/hFkzCCuIN1

Why wasn’t Duffy signed weeks ago..We might be still in CL going for the group stages…?

Is Duffy a good addition to Celtic's squad?
YES
NO
So, judging by the replies to this tweet, it appears as though plenty of Celtic fans are happy about this loan move. Duffy proved his quality in England’s top-flight during his time with Brighton, as he was named the Seagulls’ Player of the Season for the 2018/19 campaign.
If the centre-back can replicate the form that he showed for Brighton just two seasons ago when he joins up with his new teammates at Parkhead, then we believe that he may be a strong addition to Celtic’s squad.
