Many Celtic fans have been discussing the latest news update linking Odsonne Edouard with a move to Premier League side Arsenal.
The Transfer Window podcast host Ian McGarry recently talked about Arsenal’s interest in signing Edouard. He revealed that Celtic are currently willing to sell the Frenchman and are looking for a buyer.
Here’s what McGarry had to say in full (via 67HailHail): “We understand Odsonne Edouard is of great interest to the Gunners, and they’re willing to pay around €25m (£22m) for the Celtic striker, who didn’t feature in their last two games, interestingly.
“It’s our understanding that Celtic are very much willing to sell, and are looking for a buyer.”
This update was relayed on Twitter and caught the attention of many Hoops fans, who made their opinions very clear about it. Some of them mocked Arsenal’s interest.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Frenchman in the past as well. Not just them, but Aston Villa have also been linked with a move in recent weeks. Previously, Newcastle United and Leicester City have also drawn links with the striker. Monaco had an approach rejected for him in January.

Clearly, Celtic fans aren’t happy with the amount that Arsenal are looking to offer £22 million for Edouard and believe that the striker is worth more than that.
Edouard’s agent has already claimed that the player is currently happy at Celtic and the club’s chase of their tenth title in a row is ‘important’ for him. Neil Lennon has previously confirmed that the club is in talks to hand Edouard a new contract as well.
So while Arsenal might be interested in signing him, it isn’t entirely clear if the player is looking to leave this summer or not. Because of all that, it will be intriguing to see how Celtic react if Arsenal do make an offer for the Frenchman this summer.
