Many Celtic fans have been discussing the latest update involving Niclas Eliasson that recently emerged on social media.

The Scottish Sun have recently reported that Celtic are looking to make a move for Bristol City wing-back Eliasson and the club’s head of recruitment Gary Penrice scouted him in his club’s loss to Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

It has been stated that Celtic will move for Eliasson if another bid for Alfie Doughty fails.

Which player played the highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic in the 2019/20 season?

The report claims that Eliasson was first eyed by the Bhoys at the start of 2020. This update involving the Hoops left many Celtic fans talking. They took to Twitter to express their opinion about the club’s chase of Eliasson.

Eliasson is a left midfielder by trade and he can also play on the right side of the midfield. The report from the Scottish Sun states that while the 24-year-old is being looked at, Charlton Athletic’s Doughty remains the club’s first choice.

Eliasson’s current deal at Bristol City runs out in the summer of 2021. He directly contributed to 15 goals in 37 Championship appearances last season. Some other Celtic fans also made their opinion clear about the 24-year-old.

Some of these Celtic fans would like to see Eliasson at Parkhead, with one fan saying that he’d want to see the club sign the Swede because he’s better than Greg Taylor.

The Bhoys have played in a back three multiple times in recent weeks and Eliasson is someone who can play on either side of the midfield.

The Hoops don’t have a single out-and-out option for the left midfield position as Greg Taylor is primarily a left-back (as per Transfermarkt).

Because of that, it is understandable why Celtic could want Eliasson and a move for the 24-year-old would seemingly make sense for them.
