On the latest episode of the Last Word on Spurs podcast, Ricky Sacks, Lee McQueen, Richard Whitehead and Abbi Summers provided instant reaction to Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United last weekend.

One topic of discussion in the recent episode, which was titled: ‘Game Gone Mad‘, was the performance of Harry Kane in the draw against Newcastle.

The 27-year-old picked up an assist for Lucas Moura’s goal and earned an impressive 7.32 rating for his performance (per Whoscored).

The England captain could also consider himself extremely unfortunate not to get himself on the scoresheet, as he registered five shots on target during the game, but Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow produced a man-of-the-match display to keep him out, which saw him earn a superb 9.34 rating for his performance (per Whoscored).

How well can you remember the last week of Spurs action? 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal in the win against KF Shkendija?

Here’s what Sacks had to say about Kane’s recent performances during the podcast:

“Kane is looking as good as a CAM, than [he is] as a striker. Even when he gets older, I think it’s crazy, he’s going to be as good as he was when he was [in his] prolific goalscoring form.

“He’s just got the most incredible vision and I know Spurs fans listening, he reminds me so much of Teddy Sheringham. His ability, his understanding [of] when to release the ball, his passing range [as well].”

TIF Thoughts…

Kane already has five assists to his name in the Premier League this season, you can certainly understand why Sacks is waxing lyrical about his passing ability.

You can also see why Sacks compares the England captain to Teddy Sheringham, who, despite only contributing four assists alongside his 103 goals for Spurs (per Transfermarkt), was renowned for his passing ability throughout his career.

Do you agree that Kane could be an excellent attacking midfielder?

Hopefully, for Kane, he can continue his excellent start to the season and continue to score and assist for the Lilywhites throughout the 2020/21 campaign.
