Many Celtic fans have been discussing the latest news update involving Boli Bolingoli that recently emerged on social media.

Celtic recently confirmed that the club has now loaned out the left-back to Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir and he’ll stay there until the end of the current campaign. The tweet carried a link to the club’s official website, which had more details about the move.

Which player played the highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic in the 2019/20 season?

This tweet from the club’s official account caught the attention of many Celtic fans. They aired their thoughts about Bolingoli and his temporary move away from Parkhead.

Should Celtic sell Bolingoli permanently?

This comes after the Belgian had broken quarantine rules after taking a trip to Spain and subsequently featuring in Celtic’s Premiership game against Kilmarnock. As a result, two of Celtic’s league games were postponed. Neil Lennon had labelled Bolingoli’s actions act as ‘selfish’ and ‘a total betrayal of trust’.

Following the confirmation of Bolingoli’s loan move, many other Celtic fans also shared their thoughts about the defender.

Some Celtic fans feel that it is the right decision from the club, while others believe that the club should have parted ways with Bolingoli on a permanent basis.

Bolingoli has made just a single appearance in all competitions this season, as Greg Taylor has played more regularly in the left-back position. The Belgian didn’t play a single game since the end of 2019 during last season’s Premiership campaign either, which might suggest that Lennon didn’t see him as a first-team regular, anyway.

Celtic were reportedly already looking at potential replacements for Bolingoli, so letting him go may not be a problem for them at this point with the window still open.
