Celtic podcaster Kevin Graham has been sharing his thoughts on Celtic defender Shane Duffy.
This comes after Graham recently made an appearance on the latest episode of A Celtic State Of Mind Podcast where he looked back over the Hoops’ recent 3-0 league win over Hibernian.
On the topic of Duffy, who played the full 90 minutes against Jack Ross’ side, Graham had this to say on the defender.
He said: “I reckon he’s looking a bit slow on the turn. He’s looking a bit leggy but as you say, he’s played no football for almost eight months, it’s the same with [Albian] Ajeti.
“It looks like Ajeti’s injury is [because of] overexertion and we’ve spoke many times about [squad] rotation, this is the reason we are going to see the squad being rotated.”
Celtic signed Duffy on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this month. Since then, the defender has made four Premiership appearances for Neil Lennon’s side in which he has already managed to score two goals for the club (per Transfermarkt).
Before making the move to Celtic, the last time Duffy played a full 90 minutes for Brighton came back in June. After that, the defender only played five minutes of action for Graham Potter’s side in their final six league games of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Duffy’s latest appearance for Celtic saw him get an impressive match rating of 7.57/10 for his performance against Hibernian at the weekend (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…
Given how Duffy put in a decent performance against Hibernian in his latest appearance for Celtic, it appears that Graham thinks that the defender doesn’t look like he’s in the best shape at this moment in time.
Moving forward, maybe some squad rotation from Lennon could be beneficial to players like Duffy and Ajeti as Graham mentioned, so they can have a rest and stay as fresh as possible for the rest of the season.
