In-the-know podcaster @ExWHUemployee has recently discussed possible incoming signings for West Ham United in the current transfer window.

So far in the current window, David Moyes’ outfit have only secured the permanent arrival of Tomas Soucek from Slavia Prague for £14.58m (per Transfermarkt).

The lack of transfer movement for the Irons has meant that only Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley and Liverpool have spent less over the summer in the Premier League.

However, in the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee claimed that there may be incomings at the London Stadium by the end of the window.

To kick off this quiz on West Ham's 2019/20 season, which side did the Hammers' first win of the term come against?

He said: “Now, please don’t quote me on this, because when West Ham don’t seem to sign players or things go bad in the window, or don’t happen, it somehow seems to be linked back to being my fault by some people.

“I am stating on here I cannot prove this and I cannot vouch for it, but I am assured by people at the very top that we will make signings this window.

“Who they are and whether they’re good ones, I can’t tell you, but I am assured that we will not get to the end of the window with us having not made any signings.

“Now, we do want a centre-back, as obvious from the [interest in James Tarkowski]. We want a left-back [and] a right-back.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the club insider had to say, while he states that he cannot be 100% certain signings will happen, he has been ‘assured’ that there will be some, which is sure to be welcome news for the club’s supporters.

Will West Ham be relegated if they do not make any signings?

Yes, we're not good enough

No, we have enough

With the transfer window set to run until 11pm on 5th October, there is still seemingly plenty of time for Moyes’ outfit to get players across the line.

Reading further into what @ExWHUemployee had to say, it seems the defence is an area in which the Scottish manager is placing particular importance upon in this transfer window.

So, if West Ham do end up making some signings, it will be interesting to see who is brought in.
