Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to social media in order to respond to a tweet from @HotspurRelated in which they relayed a report from The Athletic claiming the club remain confident of signing a striker during this transfer window.
Harry Kane is currently the only recognised centre-forward in Jose Mourinho’s first-team squad (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk) and therefore, you can understand why the Portuguese coach may be keen to add further cover in that particular department.
The England international contributed 24 goals in all competitions last season despite missing 16 games during the 2019/20 campaign through illness and injury (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
Following the update, here is how a sample of the club’s supporters have responded.
Our very busy September schedule is almost upon us. There is real urgency to get a striker in. Getting one in at the end of the month won’t cut it. And that’s assuming that we do sign one then.

Don’t get your hopes up. We’re going to end up with Troy Deeney I can see it now ?

Wow, bold statement https://t.co/G6vqpgsowh

But when?!?!? That’s the issue we have a ridiculous amount of games coming up with ONE STRIKER

We need a striker now and not in the end of the window. Our schedule is packed!

Are you confident Spurs will sign a striker between now and the end of the transfer window?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that these supporters feel a striker needs to come in sooner rather than later, whereas some were a little calmer about the situation.
We have just under a month to go. Despite our ridiculous early schedule, there’s absolutely no need to panic (yet). We have good enough players (Son, Lucas, Bergwijn, Alli) to allow Kane to rest in the cup competitions against lower quality opposition (on paper)

Plenty of time !!

Spurs kick-off their Premier League campaign with a home fixture versus Everton this coming Sunday and so in our view, it feels highly unlikely they will get another striker in the door before then and therefore, Mourinho will have to turn to the likes of Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura should Harry Kane be forced off or unavailable for any reason.
