On the latest video for his YouTube channel, Football.london reporter Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, reflecting on the 1-0 loss against Everton last weekend, and shedding some light on the latest transfer rumours surrounding the club.

One topic of discussion on his recent video was Spurs’ reported interest in Torino striker Andrea Belotti. The Lilywhites have been heavily linked with a move for the 26-year-old in recent weeks, as they look to add another striker to their ranks before the transfer window shuts. The Italian international has been prolific for the Serie A side since joining from Palermo in 2015, scoring 92 goals in 192 appearances (per Transfermarkt).

1. Spurs signed Alfie Devine from which League One club?

Here’s what Gold had to say about Belotti during his video:

“Andrea Belotti: 26-year-old, Torino captain, scored 22 goals last season. He ticks a lot of boxes, [fits] the mentality that Spurs want, he’s a captain. I do think with him, we’re talking big money, though.

“Torino don’t want to let him go whatsoever, and I think if Spurs are going to do that, they’re going to have to put some money down first for a loan, and then I reckon with a guarantee to buy at the end of, say, next season. But he’s another one they’re looking at.”

TIF Thoughts…

Whilst Gold confirms that Spurs have looked at Belotti, he suggests that it would be an expensive deal for the Lilywhites to bring in the Italian in the current transfer window, even if it was originally on loan, which is unsurprising when you consider that he is currently valued at £31.5 million by Transfermarkt.

However, if he could come in and take some of the burden off Harry Kane, by contributing a similar level to as he has done consistently in Serie A for the last few years, then he would surely prove to be a very worthwhile signing indeed.
