Nice easy one to start with, who scored Leeds' first goal of the PL season?

One of the teams he spent some time on was Leeds United, and in particular, their pursuit of Rodrigo de Paul.

It seems as if the problem with the De Paul transfer is the transfer fee, and by the sounds of it, the two clubs are quite far away from each other’s valuations, but Romano claims the Argentine has agreed personal terms, so it is now up to the clubs to find a resolution.

He said: “The contract is ready, personal terms are agreed between Rodrigo de Paul and Leeds, five-year contract, the player wants to join, he’s ready, he wants to leave Udinese.

“The real problem is that [at] this moment, there is no agreement yet between Udinese and Leeds, they want €40m.

“So, it’s so complicated because Leeds offered €25m, and we have to wait a bit to understand what will happen between the two clubs, but for sure, Leeds are working to get Rodrigo de Paul and have an agreement with the player.”

Do you think Leeds will reach an agreement on De Paul?

TIF Thoughts…

De Paul put up a tweet not too long ago indicating his wish to move to Elland Road, but it was swiftly deleted; however, it was clear from the post that the 26-year-old wants to become a member of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad, and has agreed terms with Leeds, according to Romano.

However, Udinese are thought to want €40m (£36.5m) for De Paul, which would be a record transfer for the Whites, and Leeds’ offer of €25m (£22.81m) is some £15m away.

So, it looks like this deal is stuck at the moment, but the Whites are still trying to sign the Argentine.

It will be intriguing to see if Leeds can complete this deal before the transfer deadline.
