Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report stating that the club are interested in making a £13 million move for Watford midfielder Will Hughes.

According to a report by The Mirror, Jose Mourinho is ‘considering a surprise move’ for the 25-year-old this summer, as the Portuguese manager looks to ‘reshape his squad’ further following the acquisitions of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Matt Doherty and Joe Hart.

Since joining Watford from Derby County in what was an £8.19 million deal back in 2017, Hughes has gone on to make 87 appearances for the club, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists.

Last season, the £13.05 million-rated midfielder featured 30 times in the Premier League for Watford, scoring one goal and providing one assist, averaging a slightly disappointing WhoScored match rating of 6.63/10 – ranking him as the club’s joint-10th-best performer in the league.

From their comments, it would appear that many Spurs fans hold the belief that Hughes is not good enough for their team, as many more questioned why Mourinho apparently has an interest in the midfielder.

All in all, it would seem that these Spurs fans would not like to see their club make a move for Hughes this summer, and after looking at his uninspiring statistics from last season, we have to say, it is not difficult to see why.
