A lot of Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by Toon news Twitter account @NUFC360 which has relayed some comments from ex-Newcastle loanee Salomon Rondon that emerged in an interview that the Venezuelan striker recently did with The Guardian.
Rondon spent the 2018/19 season on loan at St. James’ Park, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in his 32 league appearances for the North East club.
Following that loan spell, the club opted not to make a move for him on a permanent basis and the 31-year-old ended up moving to Chinese Super League side Dalian Professional instead, however, reports have also claimed that Rondon would have liked to have stayed at Newcastle permanently.
During this recent interview with The Guardian, Rondon shared that he would still take the opportunity to return to St. James’ Park if given the chance and after this was shared by @NUFC360 via a tweet, plenty of Newcastle fans reacted to their post to share their thoughts on Rondon’s comments about wanting to return to the Toon.
Salomon Rondon: “If I have a chance to sign for Newcastle again then I will do it. I proved I could wear the number nine shirt.” #nufc [Guardian]

Some of the Newcastle fans who replied to this post shared some regret that their side didn’t sign Rondon on a permanent basis following his loan spell.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s criminal we didn’t take up the opportunity to sign him up permanently. Suited the system down to ground, was fully settled here and ultimately scored goals.

If we were serious we would have got him for 16 mil proven striker but no we got Andy in who’s only fit for the scrapyard and wasted money on Joel shocking business.

The best striker we’ve had for a long time.
Such a shame the club didn’t want him last summer.— ?? King of Northumbria ?? (@Sandancer1977) September 29, 2020
@salorondon23 We truly miss you, Son. letting you go have been proven foolish and one of the most bizarre decision of Mike Ashley’s inglorious era. My prayer is that it will not be championship you will need to come to rescue us from ? #NUFC

Meanwhile, some other Toon supporters replied to this tweet to share that they would like to see Rondon, who is now valued at £7.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), return to St. James’ Park.
